Dr. Afua Agyarko is a physician with a passion for promoting health and wellness. She is a graduate of Columbia University in New York City and the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. After completing her medical education, Dr. Agyarko pursued her residency in internal medicine at Methodist Hospital in Dallas, solidifying her foundation in the field.
Dr. Agyarko embarked on her medical career in Houston in 2008, where she began practicing internal medicine. During this time, she developed a profound interest in weight management, preventative healthcare, and overall well-being. Recognizing the widespread impact of obesity-related diseases on her patients, she made it her mission to help individuals manage these conditions through lifestyle changes and weight loss.
Driven by a commitment to excellence, Dr. Agyarko immersed herself in research, sought mentorship from experienced obesity medicine specialists, and pursued certification by the American Board of Obesity Medicine. Today, she proudly holds the title of a diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine, a testament to her expertise and dedication.
Dr. Agyarko's practice focuses on addressing obesity-related diseases, as well as assisting individuals in reversing these conditions and potentially reducing or discontinuing medications altogether. Her specialized training and years of hands-on experience equip her with the knowledge and skills needed to tackle obesity head-on, empowering her patients to lead healthier, more fulfilling lives.

Trina Pinkerton, RN, LD
Trina Pinkerton is a Registered Nurse and Licensed Dietitian. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics at the University of Nevada, Reno. She is a member of the PCOS Awareness Association & lead dietitian for The Phoenix Journey, a nonprofit for those with autoimmune diseases & conditions. Trina has a passion for teaching & supporting her patients in maximizing their health & living their lives to their fullest potential.
